What Do We Do Now?

With construction of the joint Cando Contracting Ltd./CN/Imperial Oil rail yard starting, we recontacted CN, Imperial Oil Ltd., all of the government departments and agencies, and our elected representatives. Again, no one could or would help, except our local Councillor for Ward 6, Alan Dunn. By this time, Mr. Dunn had tried in several ways to help us as our municipal government representative, by lining up a meeting with Strathcona County staff, giving us ideas and suggestions, and generally supporting us. Unfortunately, in spite of this assistance, construction of the rail yard continues. And, on July 8, 2010, our MP, Leon Benoit, offered his assistance in contacting the federal Ministers responsible for Transportation and the Environment, although to date we have not heard anything else from our MP.
