Cando Alters Drainage at Yard

While building its rail yard to store Imperial Oil petroleum tank cars in the Bretona Community, Cando Contracting Ltd. has completely covered a culvert that ran under a public roadway, thereby affecting local drainage both on and off the rail yard site. The federal government (Environment Canada), Alberta government (Alberta Environment), and local County of Strathcona all have responsibilities regarding drainage, especially when protected wildlife conservation areas and waterbodies are affected such as in this case.
