Privatizing CN Big Mistake

Read this excellent article on how the Canadian National Railway was sold to American investors in 1995 by the federal Liberals. The privatizing of CN was characterized by U.S. financial experts as a huge windfall and gift to foreign investors. Since being privatized, CN’s safety record has plummeted and environmental impacts have increased due to all the corner cutting by the owners.  History will not be kind to those politicians who let this great publicly-owned railway, built with Canadians’ money, be scooped up by foreign financiers.
