CN Petroleum Distillate Leak
People complained about nausea and light-headedness associated with petroleum distillate that leaked from a CN rail car near Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta on August 24. See Sherwood Park News coverage.
CN has had numerous accidents recently in the Fort Saskatchewan area. On November 21, 2010, 14 cars derailed in CN’s Scotford Rail Yard near Fort Saskatchewan. On August 18, 2010, 43 CN cars derailed in the same rail yard. And, 8 CN cars derailed in April 2005 in the same yard, spilling hydrogen peroxide.
One would think that the Transportation Safety Board of Canada would be clamping down on CN in an attempt to rectify the high number of accidents in the Fort Saskatchewan area.
